Not only does "a kicker" mean an unexpected twist, but in poker, a kicker is a high-value card used as a tie-breaker. Oh, and in American football, a kicker is the player who drills it though the uprights when the game is on the line. A kicker is also a ramp used to launch off of in extreme sports, and in typography, a kicker is brief phrase or sentence lead-in to a story or chapter. And besides: we liked it.
Kicker Studio started with a simple premise: there's a better way to create products. We would design products from the inside-out, with the functionality and interactivity determining the form and interface. So we gathered a team of world-class tinkerers, visual designers, prototypers, artists, researchers, developers, writers, project managers, product strategists, interaction and industrial designers to do just that.
We've found that our approach works great for companies with emerging technology, or companies who want to use new technologies to innovate on existing products. We've designed products for organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups and everything in between.

It was late on a Friday, he’d had a crazy week and casually nursed a glass of Bourbon as we talked about UX, robotics, magazines on tablets, and how good usability should help us forget that computers are everywhere." Kicker, our principals, and the products we've designed have been featured in BusinessWeek, Fast Company, Wired, HOW, Cnet, The Guardian, Creativity, Slashgear, BoingBoing, CrunchGear, Core77, Interactions, and Globe and Mail.
