Jody at IDSA: the full talk

On August 16, 2012, Kicker’s Jody Medich presented a talk at the IDSA 2012 International Conference in Boston, MA. Jody’s talk “Design for Physical Thinking” was part of the design education series and it was based on the idea that people are physical beings and their mental experience involves more than just the brain. Just as people use physical products, they use their bodies to communicate, to process the world, and to learn. While humans think and experience the world with their bodies, the current interaction with technology is limited to the screen, making it a primarily visual and touch interaction. It is time for designers to think about how technology can be improved by paying attention to how humans inhabit the world.
