This looks like a very interesting design and I think it can serve as either stand-alone conference phone system, or a user-interface module for existing video-conferencing system.

Detachable microphone post an challenge to the audio processing. Typically, conference phone has a very well characterized speaker-to-mic deisgn so the audio quality can be optimized. Some conference phone has multiple microphones so it can filter out echo and noise and present high-quality audio.

good work.
However, since the microphone pods are wireless, how are u going to ensure that they are not exchanged, to confuse people on the other line?

At our office those mics would constantly leave the room with people. Any way they could start chirping or vibrating if say, over 20 feet from the base unit?
