I love our office. Huge windows, great light, interesting people, and the periodic blast of traffic down Bryant. It’s a great place to work. But it’s always fun to shake up the routine. Two very different workshops last week did just that.

I have to admit: I don’t follow the latest in graphic design, and don’t know many of the big names in the field. So a lot of the people Debbie Millman interviews in How to Think Like a Great Graphic Designer were new to me, but no matter; they are fascinating interviews nonetheless.

Earlier this week I attended a talk at Adaptive Path by Dan Roam. It’s not surprising that the author of “The Back of the Napkin: Solving Problems and Selling Ideas with Pictures” would be pretty handy with a pen, but the talk provoked more thought than I anticipated.
